More women are participating in higher education now than ever. However, prior studies found that women who returned to their home country after studying abroad in countries with higher gender equality were more prone to psychological distress compared to their male counterparts. This study investigates the reentry experiences of three Indonesian women who completed postgraduate degrees in Western countries and how these experiences influenced their lives.
